Can my PC handle the internet?

Most PCs that have been purchased in the past five years are perfectly capable of connecting to the internet. In general, the following configurations should be considered to be the minimum requirement for connecting to the internet:

IBM PC Compatible:

  • Windows 98 (or better)
  • Pentium 133 mhz CPU
  • 16 megabytes RAM
  • 100 megabytes free disk space
  • 56K V.90 modem

Macintosh or equivalent:

  • OS 8
